where we are
newcastle, maine
We are an hour’s drive from Portland, 40 minutes from Augusta, and accessible to all in the Midcoast. Waterstruck is situated on River Road abutting the Damariscotta River, renowned for its oysters and stunning natural landscapes. During the late 1800s, this river also played a pivotal role in the local brick-making industry, adding a rich historical dimension to the area.
Waterstruck brick, a brick variety that originated on the shores of the Damariscotta, reflects the handmade craftsmanship of its time. The over-kilned brick from that era still adorns our shores today, with reclaimed brick finding new life in our fire pits and patios throughout Waterstruck.
who we are
Hi! We’re ashley & Kyle — two humans with a deep love for Maine (especially in the winter!), our community, our natural places - and finding warmth in it all.
After many years in behind-computer careers, we both encountered issues that so many of us are currently experiencing - burnout and work related stressors. It was during this time that we began delving into the realm of hydro and sauna therapies, seeking solace and rejuvenation in these practices. Our experiences led us to creating regular personal rituals around sauna, and sharing it with our friends and family.
From this, Waterstruck was born with the aim of crafting a community space centered on hydrotherapy and wellness practices rooted in nature and tradition. We’ve found such a vibrant and beautiful community in Midcoast Maine, and are so wildly excited to share this space and ritual with you all.
When we are not busy at Waterstruck, we find great joy in kayaking the waters of the Damariscotta, soaking up the outdoors with our dogs by our side, and delving deeper into hobbies rooted in the land.
